AVP - Data Science

Biography

Kelly Dowd is AVP, Data Science & Applied AI at AT&T, where she leads a 120-person global AI engineering organization within the Chief Data Office. Her team delivers AI capabilities across corporate functions—including HR, Legal, Compliance, and Privacy—as well as Customer Care and FirstNet. Kelly launched AT&T’s first enterprise-wide agentic application and co-leads the company’s HR agentic transformation, overseeing work from business case and architecture through delivery and adoption. Her team developed an orchestration architecture that coordinates specialized agents across Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, and Learning & Development. That design became an enterprise blueprint now supporting four independent transformations. Her responsibilities also include the AI platforms supporting AT&T’s customer care operations, from intent classification and routing to transcript intelligence across hundreds of thousands of daily calls and behavior-based coaching. She is applying agentic automation to the AI development process itself, connecting requirements, development, evaluation, and adoption feedback while incorporating operating costs into architectural decisions. Previously, as Director of Data Science, Kelly guided her team’s progression from workforce analytics into generative AI, delivering 10 GenAI solutions in 2024 across sales performance, document processing, policy compliance, and workforce planning. Since joining AT&T in 2014, she has held roles spanning technology transformation, AI product management, financial analysis, and executive operations. Kelly holds a Master of Science in Information Engineering and Management from Southern Methodist University.
